Here’s
a quick guide and a few pointers when preparing for the festival season:
·
Know your limits.
·
Learn about the effects and
risks of different drugs before you take anything.
·
Don’t ever mix with alcohol or
prescription drugs.
·
Be patient- may take a while to
kick in.
·
Don’t buy from strangers
because you may not know what you are buying.
·
Don’t drive- the effects can
last hours, even days after taking them.
Looking after yourself:
· EAT!
·
Drink LOTS of water!
·
Don’t wander off
·
Don’t over do it/overheat
Dealing with Bad Effects:
·
Comedown- have a glass of
orange juice! Vitamin C really helps.
·
If you’re feeling ill/paranoid-
find a quiet place to relax with a friend
·
If you’re feeling dizzy, sudden
headaches, cramps, sickness, difficulty peeing- sit down, drink a soft drink
and splash some water on your face.
·
If you or your friend collapse,
stop sweating, suffer from convulsions, has difficulty breathing, severe
tiredness- seek medical attention immediately.
DON’T FORGET THAT IT’S ILLEGAL TO POSSESS DRUGS... NOT
HAVE THEM IN YOUR SYSTEM SO IF YOU’RE IN TROUBLE THEN DON’T BE AFRAID TO ASK
FOR HELP FOR FEAR OF BEING ARRESTED! MAKE SURE THE PARAMEDICS KNOW WHAT YOU’VE
TAKEN.
